Uses
1. Used as an electrolyte in zinc-carbon batteries. 
2. Used to adjust pH in soils, as a source of nitrogen fertilizer, and it can also be used to remove sulfur dioxide from flue gases. 
3. Used as a nitrogen source in yeast fermentation, a salty flavor for certain foods and to improve dough texture and elasticity for bread making. 
4. Used to prepare buffer and standard solutions, and to precipitate metal ions. 
5. Used as a cleaning agent in metalworks, and used in galvanizing process to prepare steel surfaces for coating. 
6. Used in certain medicine formulations, and adjust the pH of pharmaceutical formulations.  
7. Help to remove impurities from fabrics during processing and to fix dyes on fabrics. It is also used to neutralize lime in leather tanning.
