Uses
1. Used as a raw material for urea-formaldehyde, phenol-formaldehyde, and melamine-formaldehyde resins production, and composite wood products. 
2. Used to sterilize and disinfect surfaces and medical devices. 
3. Used as a solvent for reactions, separation techniques, and extracting organic compounds. 
4. Used as an intermediate in certain pharmaceutical formulations. 
5. Used in finishing processes for fabrics to improve wrinkle resistance.
