Uses
1. Used in alumina extraction from bauxite, certain personal care and household product formulations such as soap and detergent manufacturing, and various chemicals such as sodium salt and synthetic fibers production. 
2. Used as an industrial cleaner for drains, industrial equipment, and pipes. 
3. Used in sewage treatment by breaking down organic matter, as a pH regulator, and to remove heavy metal ions in the water treatment process. 
4. Used as a pH regulator for certain foods, and in certain food processing. 
5. Used in titrations, pH adjustment, chemical synthesis, and removing organic residues from laboratory equipment.
6. Used to prepare metal surfaces by removing rust, stains, and oxides. 
7. Used to remove impurities and sulfur compounds from petroleum products, to control the pH in drilling mud, and transesterification of vegetable oils to produce biodiesel.
8. Used as pH regulator, a bleaching agent in the paper manufacturing and in fibers treatment.
