Uses
1. Used as a source of potassium in fertilizers to improve crop yield and health, and to adjust soil pH.
2. Used as a raw material in other potassium compounds, such as potassium carbonate and potassium hydroxide, and can be used to replace Sodium chloride in water softening systems.
3. Used in oil and gas drilling works as it stabilizes clay formations and prevents swelling.
4. Used as a food additive to replace salt in low-sodium or sodium-free food. It provides a salty taste without sodium content. Used as a food preservative to prolong the shelf life of food products.
5. Used as a chemical reaction reagent, to prepare buffer solutions, and as a reference electrode in electrochemical measurements.
